World Cup Haiku
I know these only marginally follow the pattern, but just because I'm a writer doesn't mean I'm a poet. I just thought it would be fun to write down my thoughts on the Round of 16 games in some vaguely poetic form. Please feel free to offer up your own.
South Korea wins
Just by making it this far
Uruguay moves on
Landon proves us wrong
Digs Ghana into a hole
Still like “Landycakes”
The Dutch are slower
Than I ever remember
Slovaks are slower
Brazil had their day
Chile are exciting
Here’s my long shot pick
Mexico can run
But they can’t hide from Messi
Hand of God still hurts
The Brits are a mess
The Germans young and faster
Don’t mention the war
Paraguay defeats
The Land of the Rising Sun
Japan had its day
Spain and Portugal
Here’s the clash of the titans
The best diver wins
South Korea wins
Just by making it this far
Uruguay moves on
Landon proves us wrong
Digs Ghana into a hole
Still like “Landycakes”
The Dutch are slower
Than I ever remember
Slovaks are slower
Brazil had their day
Chile are exciting
Here’s my long shot pick
Mexico can run
But they can’t hide from Messi
Hand of God still hurts
The Brits are a mess
The Germans young and faster
Don’t mention the war
Paraguay defeats
The Land of the Rising Sun
Japan had its day
Spain and Portugal
Here’s the clash of the titans
The best diver wins

A Poem By Brennan
He wrote two for his grade 5 class the other day. One is a picture poem that doesn't show up well in this type of blog. Suffice it to say that it is quite lovely. The other? Well, have a look:
Cows
*I see cows in the night sky
*Shiny and bright
*They scream to me with a piercing hate
*They are grazing on the stars
*The horses threaten them to take over the world
*I see cows in the night sky
*Shiny and bright
*They scream to me with a piercing hate
*They are grazing on the stars
*The horses threaten them to take over the world
