Away

Off to Seattle for Norwescon, an event that is looking less and less appealing as the moments go by. Nothing to do with the con itself, mind, but nothing to talk about here right now. But who knows; maybe something good will come out of the weekend, and of course I'll be seeing some friends I haven't seen for some time, and that's a Good Thing.

Back on Monday.

Comments:
How was it?!!

Good, though a tad melancholy. A writer friend (who was there) is dying of cancer, I found out, and it could be tomorrow or could be some time yet. Glad I got to see him, though, and glad I was told, rather than wandering around blissfully unaware.

No novel news yet (at least none I can make public). My panels went well, one of which was SRO and one (with Greg Bear) was in a larger room and was well populated and good fun.

The weather was cold and windy and wet. The con appeared to go over 2500, which was pretty good. I got copies of Holly Phillips' new novel, The Burning Girl, and Steven Mills' as well, Burning Stones. Hung with some pretty cool people, made some new friends, came home tired. Mostly the usual.

Thanks, Catherine. A quiet day today; Jo comes back from Vancouver tonight, so the boys and I just went for ice cream. The cake will happen this weekend.
